How To Access The Hidden Cow Level In Diablo 2: Resurrected

Tired of slaying demons and want a change of pace? How about the second most evil creatures on the face of Sanctuary? That's right, it's the cows. This secret level in Diablo 2 has been the topic of conversation for many years and some are still asking does the cow level exist in Diablo 4? Without further ado let's get into the mysterious treasure hunt you'll need to partake in to access this area of the game.

End Game Boss:

First thing's first, you're going to need to have defeated the end game boss, this is going to be el Diablo the lord of hatred in the OG base game, or Baal the lord of destruction and most in need of a powerful skin care routine in Resurrected. This check is done in the backend of the game as a precursor to opening up the portal, think of it as a key to this specific lock you're trying to open.

Horadric Cube:

Secondly you're going to need the Horadric Cube, an enigmatic relic of ancient origins found within the Halls of the Dead dungeon located in the Dry Hills region of Act 2. If you're worried about potentially missing this item you don't have to, acquiring the cube is part of the base game story and you mainly use it when combining runes together to forge stronger ones, or creating entirely new pieces of equipment from your old and unused pieces.

Where To Find Wirt's Leg In Tristram:

The third piece of the puzzle is a rather bleak one, and reminds you that in the world of Sanctuary there really aren't any happy endings to be found. You're going to have to traverse back to Act 1 of the game and go searching for an old friend, or more specifically, their body. If you forgot how to get to Tristram in Diablo 2 don't worry we've got you.

In Stony Field found in Act 1 you'll find a circle of Cairn Stones, go through the red portal you see, once you arrive in Tristram you should stay a while.....and search. In far left corner of the now destroyed village you'll find Wirt's body, unfortunately when the demons attacked and turned the town into a footnote of history, Wirt our ol buddy ol pal wasn't able to escape the attack, interact with his body and it'll drop the item "Wirt's leg". Hold on to this as it's an integral piece of the puzzle.

The Tome Of Town Portal:

The final item you'll need is a simple tome of town portal which can be purchased from Akara in the Rogue Encampment, the first town of the game. Combine the tome and Wirt's leg into the Horadric Cube right there in the middle of the Rogue Encampment and hit that transmute button, if you've followed the steps you should spawn a red portal leading to the realm of the Hell Bovines. It's time to take the fight to these horrid creatures.

What To Expect In The Cow Level:

You can also find the Cow King in this location, killing him drops 8 stamina potions, some of the best items dropped in the Diablo 2 cow level is the Cow Leather set, this set is incredibly powerful from around the early-mid game before it get's outclassed by late game gear.

It gives you a solid boost of 30% to attack speed and a 125% better chance of finding magic items. This makes it a fantastic set to exploit when you're farming for specific unique items!

The Hell Bovines are also quite prone to dropping strong runes, gems, jewels and charms. So if you're looking to find a veritable treasure trove of these, then this realm is the place to be.
