Probably the most anticipated game of all time, GTA VI has been officially delayed until May 2026 for console users, the pc port of the game will most likely come a while after the initial release. Many folks on social media have expressed disappointment at the longer time to wait but others also state that the longer the work on it the more polished it'll be, many memes have started to crop up around the gargantuan wait between the fifth installment in the series and this one, the most popular being "we got _ before GTA VI". Let's get into what's been happening with this game and try satiate some of the desire to jump in and play.

GTA VI is set in a fictional universe that mirrors modern day America, the game itself will take place in what looks like Miami, Florida, known as Vice City in the game world. You'll be able to explore the city in it's entirety from it's seedy underbelly to the glistening blue waters of the beaches and the dangerous bayous in the surrounding countryside. The freedom of exploration in this game look like it's going to be unparalleled and players will be able to traverse the world to their hearts content.

It seems that on base consoles, namely the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 the game will aim to run at a locked 30fps, which could be a dealbreaker to some, many players, ourselves included, firmly believe that 60fps should always be an option, sacrificing fidelity for a smoother experience is a choice we as players should be able to make, it seems that the Playstation 5 Pro will be able to reach the fabled 60fps, it's unfortunate that only those with the buying power to purchase that beast of a machine will be able to choose a performance option.

A couple years ago now there was a full pre alpha leak of the game that showed some gameplay and characters, this quickly spread like wildfire among sites like twitter and reddit while Rockstar tried their best to plug it. Obviously something like this really sucks for the developers as they're still in the process of refining and improving the game, this of course was a very early view and was not expected to fall into the publics hands, many folks joked about how bad or "mid" it looked, while not taking into account how early on in the build of the game this was.

Since then we've recieved two trailers of the game, the second looking even more beautiful than the last, many of the footage was captured by the in game engine and blew fans away, the level of fidelity is a massive step up from GTA V, with small details like the glistening of sweat on skin, beer sloshing inside a glass botle, reflections and overall character design. There are more than a few moments where it's hard to distinguish the game from reality and it makes us incredibly excited to get our hands on it when it's time for release.

There have been a multitude of leaks and rumours surrounding the asking price for the base edition of the game, with many falling into the sentiment that it'll land on $80USD, some other rumblings place it as high as $100USD. The problem with this if it turns out to be true is that GTA VI is predicted to be one of the best selling games of all time, and it could very well achieve that even with an exceptionally high price. If other video game publishers see that a $100 game sells faster than Salmo's sweetrolls they're going to want to jack up their prices too. Only time will tell what Rockstar has planned for the game.
We'll probably get a steady stream of information as the release date ticks closer but until then rest assured that our ears will be close to the ground should any new leaks or news pop up. Have a good one, and thanks for reading.
